SCHOLARSHIPS FAQ
Where can I find scholarships? This is a question I am frequently asked by families and students. I have found basically there are 3 sources of information students can access when on this search.
#1) Your College – Each college will have its own scholarship application and deadlines. Sometimes the application for admission and scholarship are combined together (for example UK) and others times your first step will be to apply for admission and then complete a separate application for scholarship (for example U of L). It is your responsibility to check with the college of your choice and be aware of these requirements and deadlines. As always, I will be happy to help you research the college of your choice. Just bring your computer to my office and we can get started. Each college will have a link to their scholarship page – having trouble finding it? Maybe look under their financial aid tab if they don’t have a scholarship tab.
#2) Your Counselor - ME! – any scholarship that notifies me will be posted to the blog.
Check often so you don’t miss anything & sign up for Remind - I use this as a way to draw your
attention to the blog!
#3 Yourself – You can do scholarship searches on your own.
Check with your clubs, place of employment, church etc - Ask your parents if their work or any groups they belong to give out scholarships - use a scholarship search engine like Fastweb or Cappex - be mindful of scams -you should never pay to apply for scholarship. I have listed some popular ones below.
