West Kentucky Rural Electric Cooperative Scholarship Program

Academic Scholarship

West Kentucky RECC makes academic scholarships available to graduating high school seniors as a way of helping deserving young people with the expenses of higher education and also as a means of honoring academic excellence. A total of eight $1,000 college scholarships (one-time grants) will be awarded as follows: Two awards from District 1 - Calloway County Two awards from District 2 - Carlisle and Hickman Counties Two awards from District 3 - Graves County Two awards from District 4 – Marshall Counties 

Note: WKRECC will also award one vocational scholarship. This scholarship requires a separate application. 

To be eligible for an academic scholarship, you must be a high school senior in good standing and your parent or guardian must be a member of and receive electric service from West Kentucky RECC at their principle place of residence. In addition, each scholarship participant must complete an application form, receive a favorable report from their guidance counselor and a high school teacher, and agree to abide by the terms and conditions as specified by West Kentucky RECC. 

Deadline for entering the program is March 3, 2023. Please note that completed applications should be submitted to your high school guidance counselor.

Vocational Scholarship

In 2023, one graduating high school senior will receive a $1,000 vocational/technical scholarship from West Kentucky Rural Electric Cooperative Corporation. The scholarship is to be used toward tuition and required class materials and is available when the winner enrolls as a full-time student in an accredited vocational/technical school or program. The scholarship will be payable directly to the student upon adequate proof of enrollment. West Kentucky RECC makes scholarships available to graduating high school seniors as a way of helping deserving young people further their education and prepare for a successful career. To be eligible, the student must be a high school senior in good standing whose parent or guardian is a member of and receives electric service from West Kentucky RECC at their primary residence.
