National DAR Scholarship Opportunities

Each year the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) awards multiple scholarships to students showing dedication to the pursuit of higher education. DAR awards scholarships for students pursuing an education in history, economics, law, political science, medicine, nursing, occupational and physical therapy, elementary and secondary education, chemistry, math, science and English.

The following criteria apply to all scholarship applicants:

• Applicants must be citizens of the United States.
• Applicants must attend or plan to attend an accredited college or university in the United States.
• All multi-year scholarships, typically renewable up to four years, must be for consecutive years of attendance.
• Awards are based on academic excellence, commitment to the field of study, and/or financial need, or other restrictions on specific scholarships.
• Awards are placed on deposit with the recipient’s college or university and any unused portion shall be returned to the DAR.
• Applicants are only eligible to receive one national scholarship from the DAR Scholarship Committee.

The DAR Scholarship Committee Has an Online Submission Process
DAR is pleased to announce all students applying for scholarships offered by the DAR Scholarship Committee will submit their applications using the online application portal below.  Emailed or mailed applications will no longer be accepted, unless applying for the Margaret Howard Hamilton Scholarship.

KHSAA Captain of the Year

Friends of Coal, in partnership with the Kentucky High School Athletic Association, will award (2) $1,000 scholarships to one male and one female team captains that embody Kentucky traditions. 2026 US Senate Youth Program

 

Applications for 2026 U.S. Senate Youth Program now open

(FRANKFORT, KY) – Applications are now open for the 2026 United States Senate Youth Program (USSYP), a merit-based program that takes the most outstanding high school students from around the country to Washington, D.C., for a week-long study of the federal government and the people who lead it.

Two Kentucky high school students will be selected this fall as delegates and will each receive a $10,000 college scholarship in the name of the U.S. Senate, with encouragement to continue coursework in history, government and public affairs.

The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) oversees the selection process of two students to be part of the national 104-student USSYP delegation.

Students will attend Washington Week, scheduled for March 7-14, and participate in meetings and briefings with high-level officials from each branch of the federal government. Speakers typically include senators, a justice of the Supreme Court, leaders of cabinet agencies, other key policymakers and senior members of the media.

High school teachers and principals are encouraged to nominate qualified high school juniors and seniors to apply. Applications for the 2025 USSYP program are available online and are due Sept. 29.

Applicants should be interested in and participating in leadership, public service and government-related activities. Students will need to submit a transcript, two letters of recommendation, three essay responses, a resume and a signature form as part of the application process.

The semifinalists will interview in Frankfort on a date to be determined.

KDE will announce the names of the two USSYP delegates and two alternates representing Kentucky in December.

Ashley Nicole Billiter, a senior at duPont Manual High School (Jefferson County), and Peter Monroe Jefferson, a senior at Henry Clay High School (Fayette County), were selected for the 2025 program.

The U.S. Senate Youth Program was created by Senate Resolution 324 in 1962 and has been sponsored by the Senate and funded by The Hearst Foundations. The 2025 program details are available on the U.S. Senate Youth Program website.

Sigma Phi Epsilon Balanced Man Scholarship 2025

  

Sigma Phi Epsilon is proud to offer the Balanced Man Scholarship at over 140 universities to student leaders this year! This is a great opportunity for students entering college in Fall 2025.

To qualify for the Balanced Man Scholarship, incoming students should submit an online application and enroll full-time at any participating institutions for the fall 2025 term (no essay required). Final deadlines vary by school, but the early application deadline for most scholarships is June 1, 2025. Applicants have no obligation to affiliate with or join SigEp to be eligible. This resource is intended to assist with college affordability while introducing students to campus life opportunities.

The Work Ready Kentucky Scholarship is available to:

1. Kentucky residents.
2. Those with a high school diploma or students working on their GED.
3. Anyone without an associate degree or higher.

The scholarship is not income or GPA based. No essay is required.

The Balanced Man Scholarship MSU 2025

 

The Kentucky Epsilon chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon is offering 20+ one-time scholarships totaling $5,000 to incoming male freshmen at Murray State University for the 2025-2026 academic year.

SigEp is an undergraduate fraternity that will award over $300,000 at over 160 campuses across the country during the 2025-2026 academic year. Our mission is Building Balanced Men. The Balanced Man Scholarship rewards men who exemplify the qualities of a Sound Mind and a Sound Body, as we believe they are two ideals essential to leading a balanced life.

To qualify for the Balanced Man Scholarship, incoming students must submit an application online at https://murraystate.sigep.org/bms/ and be enrolled as a full-time student at Murray State University by June 15th.

Jack Marshall Memorial Scholarship 2025

The Home Builders Association of Western Kentucky presents the Jack Marshall
Memorial Scholarship Fund, established in 2004. Jack Marshall was a long time
member, supporter and the upcoming president of the HBA WK, when he passed away. Jack devoted many hours of service and leadership to the association and in this area's residential construction industry.

We offer this scholarship to a qualified High School students who plans to
continue their education in the building industry and live in one of the 11 counties
that we serve.

We will be awarding one student a $1,500.00 scholarship to college or trade
school of their choice. This scholarship has been funded each year by the HBAWK
budget and will be awarded to the student on Awards Day.
 

Enclosed is a scholarship application to fill out and return to the Home Builders

Lions Club 2025 Scholarship

 CALVERT CITY LIONS CLUB
SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM GUIDE LINES

Leveled grants of $1,000.00 to $3,000.00 will be awarded to students who are entering as a new college, university or career institution/facility student seeking a degree or certification in a field supporting a better life quality in our community. The career should be a service career or a professional degree in a service field. This is a one time award and not a continuing scholarship.

The recipient should:
1. Reside in Marshall County, Kentucky – preference will be given to students in the Calvert-Sharpe Area and former Leo members.

2. Will graduate from Marshall County Schools, Christian Fellowship or Titus Christian Prep School, and will not exclude certified home schools.

3. Should be a graduating senior with a Minimum GPA of 2.0 /4.0 (or equivalent) at graduation and have completed at least one community service project.

4. Funds are to be used at a named secondary institution or training institution. Funds are to be sent directly to the institution for deposit on a school card for use in the institution’s bookstore or be distributed by the bursar of the institution. (Address information is required)
 

5. Should the recipient drop out within the semester the funds are awarded, the total funds are to be returned to the Calvert City Lions Club scholarship program.

6. In accordance with our bylaws, an eligible recipient cannot be a dependent of a member of the Lions Club.

The application portion of this booklet is due back, in printed form, to your school’s guidance counselor’s office by noon on April 21, 2025. All applications will be collected by the Calvert City Lions Club Scholarship Committee and immediately screened for acceptance and consideration.
