WKRECC Academic Scholarship

 WEST KENTUCKY RURAL ELECTRIC COOPERATIVE CORPORATION
2022 ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

1. Graduating high school seniors whose parent(s) or guardian is a member of and receives electric service from West Kentucky RECC at their primary place of residence are eligible.  Children of West Kentucky RECC employees/directors are not eligible.

2. Applicants will be enrolled or planning to enroll as a full-time student in an accredited college or university of their choice.

3. West Kentucky RECC will offer a total of $8,000 in college scholarships this year:
Two awards from District 1 - Comprised of Calloway County
Two awards from District 2 - Comprised of Carlisle and Hickman Counties
Two awards from District 3 - Comprised of Graves County
Two awards from District 4 - Comprised of Marshall County

4. Each Scholarship Award is a one-time grant of $1,000 to help cover the cost of higher education. Scholarship funds will be paid directly to the student upon written proof of enrollment (copy of fee bill and course schedule) and may be applied toward tuition, housing, books, instructional materials, lab fees and other costs directly related to education.

Deadline for entering the program is March 4, 2022.  Please note that completed applications should be submitted to your high school guidance counselor.

West Kentucky RECC defines an eligible student as: A) a student who,
in all probability, will be graduating at the completion of the academic year; B) whose parents/guardians are members of West Kentucky RECC and receive electric service from West Kentucky RECC at their primary place of residence; C) is actively pursuing enrollment in an acceptable institution of higher learning, D) who has established an excellent academic record in high school, E) has a financial need; and F) has, in the view of school officials, both the capacity and the inclination to become a serious and enthusiastic student at an institution of higher learning.
