2022 VOCATIONAL/TECHNICAL SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMRULES FOR PARTICIPATION
1. Eligible students include graduating high school seniors whose parent(s) or guardian is a member of and receives electric service from West Kentucky RECC at their primary residence. Children of West Kentucky RECC employees/directors are not eligible.
2. Applicants will be planning to enroll as a full-time student in an accredited
vocational/technical school or program.
3. West Kentucky RECC will offer one vocational/technical scholarship valued at $1,000 to help cover the cost of the school or program. Scholarship funds will be paid directly to the student upon written proof of enrollment and may be applied toward the cost of tuition, course supplies, instructional materials, lab fees and other costs directly related to education.
4. Eligible students must receive a written favorable recommendation from a teacher or guidance counselor.
5. Each participant must submit a completed West Kentucky RECC Vocational/Technical Scholarship Program Application Form, a transcript of grades and subjects taken in high school, and a written recommendation from a teacher or counselor. All submitted materials become the property of West Kentucky RECC and will not be returned. Deadline for entering the program is March 4, 2022. Please note that completed applications should be submitted to your high school guidance counselor.
6. Winners are encouraged to appear for recognition at the Cooperative’s Annual Meeting (July 9, 2022). Winners will be recognized as part of the business meeting and photos will be made for cooperative communication purposes.
7. For clarification, West Kentucky RECC defines an eligible student as: A) a student who is expected to graduate at the completion of the academic year; B) whose parents/guardians are members of West Kentucky RECC and receive electric service from West KentuckyRECC at their primary residence; C) is actively pursuing enrollment in an acceptable vocational/technical institution, D) who has established a good academic record in high school, E) has a financial need; and F) demonstrates the aptitude and inclination to be a successful student and a valued employee in his/her chosen vocational/technical field.
